The Power of Mathematics: Can We Hack the Next-Gen Quantum Founders?
Dear friends,
The first live lecture for our free mathematical course kickstarted last Friday! To make the live session manageable, we capped the number of live attendees to 50. However, we were still joined by an exciting group of professionals across the world including; UK, France, USA, Canada, China, India, Mexico and South Africa. These ambitious professionals are mostly coming from a software engineering background. They joined because they have limited mathematical background and our goal is to expose them to the advanced mathematical machinery they need in order to have a chance to be in a position where they can make a non-trivial contribution to the advancement of fields such as quantum algorithms.
The highlight of the first session was when our co-founder Bambordé Baldé hacked his way to recover the notion of probability measure by just using the basic set-theoretic concepts covered in the lecture. This was aimed at showcasing the power of mathematical abstraction, in that, with few simple axioms, one can reconstruct important concepts such as probability (classical at this stage).
Mathematical Coverage
The first part of the course is the foundation module, which will run for around 12 weeks (1 lecture per week) covering the following topics:
Fireside Chats
We’re planning to hold occasional fireside chats with people from industry and academia, wherein for one hour our learners can ask them any questions or advise related to the field.
