Zaiku Digest | February Newsletter.
Dear friends,
As we near the end of February, below are our summary updates pertinent to our team at Zaiku that you find useful.
1. Quantum 4Genomics Network
We are establishing a network of collaboration among researchers and organisations who are aligned with our mission, aiming to help transform genomics research through the exploitation of quantum technologies. The founding members of Quantum 4Genomics (Q4G) Network are (in alphabetical order) BioGeMT Project (by the University of Malta), Homomorphic Labs, National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) and Zaiku Group .
If you would like to join the network or find out more about Q4G, please visit quantum4genomics.network.
2. The Quantum House Cards Talk
Some of you might already be familiar with the thought-provoking paper "The Quantum House of Cards" by Xavier Waintal. This piece has sparked a spectrum of reactions within the quantum computing community, ranging from solid agreement from the sceptics to outright dismissal by the staunch optimists.
At Zaiku Group, we find ourselves in a balanced position. We are optimistic about the transformative potential of quantum computing while fully acknowledging the significant challenges in developing practical quantum computers. We advocate for open and constructive dialogue, where sceptics and optimists can share and debate their views, fostering a more nuanced and productive discourse rather than polarising into fixed camps.
In line with this ethos, we are thrilled to announce that Xavier Waintal will join the Quantum Formalism community in a talk scheduled for tomorrow, February 29th, at 6 PM UK time.
To join the live session, please secure your spot by registering through the following form: https://forms.gle/xuo9KcaoypxVjwcr6.
Happy rest of the week!
Many thanks,
Bambordé
